Greetings fellow climbers! My name is Madison, I am the author, editor and visionary behind this handy website. I am an avid climber and learner based in Kamloops B.C. I am currently enrolled at Thompson Rivers University’s Bachelors of tourism management with a major in adventure. In the future I hope to open a climbing related business, either guiding or a gym.
Here at Kamloops Climbing my main concern is keeping you up-to-date on the current events happening in the Kamloops rock-climbing scene, as well as larger international climbing events.
I personally started climbing about three years ago in my hometown of Prince George, north of Kamloops. I choose to call the outdoor area I learned to climb in rugged, others may choose choss, or grimey, but what encourages people to progress more than attempts at escaping a less than ideal situation? In my three years I have done quite a bit of climbing all over B.C my favorite areas being the Chief boulders in Squamish, and Skaha Bluffs in Penticton. This year was a big year for my personal progress as I reached my goal of climbing V4 and V5 boulders, as well as hoping on a 5.12b sport climbing route. Although I am not a seasoned veteran of the sport and area quite yet I soon hope to be, and will be communicating with many to bring you the quality, accurate content needed to explore and progress in our enchanting area.
